WFHomie Secures $1.5 Million to Fund Company Expansion

Funding is from LOI Venture’s Ryan Holmes and Manny Padda

WFHomie, the Canadian-based provider of an employee engagement platform, announced it had raised $1.5 million in funding to facilitate expansion and enhance the company’s analytics capabilities.

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Toronto, WFHomie is the developer and provider of an employee engagement and culture-building platform designed to keep distributed teams connected by identifying gaps in team behavior. Based on the data it collects, WFHomie then provides curated recommendations on actions to take, leveraging the platform’s offering of virtual experiences, team-building activities, and employee-appreciation opportunities.

Pavla Bobosikova, WFHomie co-founder and CEO, said the platform’s analytics use artificial intelligence (AI) to inform the best next steps that companies can take to attract and retain top talent, boost employer brand, and keep culture alive, even in remote workplaces.

“There are far too many people working from home who are feeling isolated and are on the verge of burnout. WFHomie was created to fix that,” Bobosikova said. “We’ve seen the Great Resignation change the way employers are treating their staff. With this new raise, we can continue to grow our team, our analytics, and AI-powered recommendations capabilities, and continue to acquire new customers.”

WFHomie co-founder Reza Farahani concurred. “Employee burnout and top-talent turnover has plagued companies over the years, and it’s more prevalent than ever coming out of 2021. With this new raise, WFHomie is just scratching the surface of where we are going in the world of employer-employee relationships and human connection in the workplace.”

Following the company’s initial launch in Toronto and Montreal, WFHomie is now looking to continue growing its customer base across the rest of the US and Canada, the company affirmed in its news release.

Participating in the current funding round for WFHomie were Canadian investors Ryan Holmes and Manny Padda with their new fund, LOI Venture, which seeks to provide capital and mentorship to Canadian founders under 30 years old with a $20 million venture capital seed fund. Holmes is also the co-founder of Hootsuite, a social media management platform for overseeing multiple social media networks. Padda is an angel investor and a board member of the League of Innovators, a national Canadian charity that aims to equip young people to be entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers. WFHomie is the first recipient of LOI Venture funding, Holmes pointed out. “They encapsulate everything our fund sets out to be, providing more capital and greater mentorship to young Canadian entrepreneurs,” he said. “WFHomie is bridging the gap of hybrid, remote work and has a deep understanding of what’s needed to build those meaningful relationships.”
