The Virginia-Based IT Firm Will Be the Preeminent UK Football Club’s Digital Partner

DXC deal with Manchester United

DXC Technology, the global IT services and consulting firm based in Ashburn, Virginia, has signed a major multiyear agreement to be the digital transformation partner of UK Premier League football club Manchester United.

As the club turns to technology to transform its operations, DXC will lend its expertise to enhance fan engagement through digital platforms, running Manchester United’s website, app, and media platforms, managing the club’s digital presence, and harnessing data and analytics to deliver a richer and more personalized football experience for the club’s global fanbase.

Manchester United is among the highest-earning and most widely supported football clubs in the world. It competes in the Premier League, the top division in the English football league system, and has won a record 20 League titles.

DXC will also be Manchester United’s principal shirt-sleeve partner, with the DXC brand logo to be visible on the club’s home, away, and third kit for the men’s, women’s, and youth teams. And through the agreement, DXC will be the presenting partner to Manchester United Foundation, the club’s charity hand, for community care and education through digital workshops, programs, and in-person seminars.

Victoria Timpson, CEO of alliances and partnerships at Manchester United, says the organization is excited to be working with DXC in providing new opportunities to interact with fans. “The possibilities are endless. We are two organizations with a shared belief in the power of technology and its role in improving the way in which we operate,” Timpson adds.

Chris Drumgoole, chief operating officer at DXC, says his company is proud to be part of an exciting new era for the club. “Whether it’s running one of the most popular and successful sports teams in the world, or transforming business for Fortune 500 organizations, Manchester United and DXC are experts in managing world-class operations,” Drumgoole states. “We stand shoulder to shoulder in our belief in the power of technology to win.”
